WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Drug Enforcement Agency set new cannibis extract laws. Entitled "Establishment
of a New Drug Code for Marihuana Extract", the three page document
lists new rules for those working with CBD and extracts.
According
to finalized documents released by the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA),
there are new rules for anyone working in the cannabis industry,
specifically those concerned with extracts and cannabid oil (CBD).
The
ruling; which goes into effect today, creates a new identification code
for marijuana extracts. This means that any cannabis extract, other
than separated resin, that contains one or more cannabinoids falls under
the code 7350 and is now a Schedule 1 substance, meaning it cannot
cross state lines.
The DEA goes on to explain that any person who
is currently licensed to produce and handle marijuana extracts will
need to apply to modify their registration by January 13, 2017.
